2 Workshops @ Walsh

Project Management FundamentalsDuring the eight weekly, three-hour sessions, participants will learn the processes and tools of basic project management based on the Project Management Institute’s Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Who should attend: Anyone interested in a career as a project manager or who may need future PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. 
DATE: Wednesdays beginning July 7, 2010, weekly for eight weeks (skipping Wednesday, July 28) ending on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Attendees should plan to attend all eight workshops.
TIME: 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. 
LOCATION: Troy Campus

INSTRUCTOR: Joan Kelly, PMP, is currently under contract with Right Management to assist displaced workers with job search strategies. She holds both Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education degrees from the University of Michigan. Kelly is a skilled instructor and facilitator in project management, root cause analysis, process improvement, change management and leadership development. Joan will be assisted by Mary Wright, PMP.

An overview of resume writing, interviewing, LinkedIn, networking, and careers in business.

INSTRUCTORS: Laurie Siebert, Cheryl Carr, Elayne Steinhardt, and Brenda Meller 
Laurie Siebert is director of Career Services at Walsh College. Cheryl Carr is an outreach coordinator/advisor and Elayne Steinhardt is an advisor for Career Services. Together, they assist students and alumni in the pursuit of their career goals. Each is experienced with individual job search assistance, including job search techniques, practice interviews, and general career consultation. They also work with local businesses to help them recruit new employees from the qualified pool of Walsh graduates through on-campus recruiting, job fairs, and online job listings.
