South Oakland Shelter Offers Assistance
The South Oakland Shelter, in an effort to prevent homelessness, has developed a housing program to assist individuals and families with short-term rental assistance, security deposits, utility payments, and moving costs. These are the Must-Have eligibility terms:
- At or below 50% of Area Median Income
- Homeless or at risk of losing home
- Moving into or residing in Oakland County, outside of Pontiac
- A lease agreement in place
- Willing to gather all required documentation.

Budgeting Boot Camp
Clarkston Schools and Steeples will present Budgeting Boot Camp on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Independence Township Fire Station No. 1. Topics will include spending, budgeting and how to reduce your budget. The fire station is located at 6500 Citation Dr. , Clarkston , Mich. , 48346 . The event is open to everyone at no charge.
