I found an article on April 14th, in the Oakland press that will provide $155 Million in funds for the unemployed in the state of Michigan to help homeowners with their mortgage payment or principle reduction. South Oakland Shelter Offers Assistance
The South Oakland Shelter, in an effort to prevent homelessness, has developed a housing program to assist individuals and families with short-term rental assistance, security deposits, utility payments, and moving costs. These are the Must-Have eligibility terms:
- At or below 50% of Area Median Income
- Homeless or at risk of losing home
- Moving into or residing in Oakland County, outside of Pontiac
- A lease agreement in place
- Willing to gather all required documentation.

Budgeting Boot Camp
Clarkston Schools and Steeples will present Budgeting Boot Camp on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Independence Township Fire Station No. 1.
