Scholarship for Women
A Troy women’s organization awards scholarship funding to women returning to school. We focus on need-based and community service with preference to Troy residents. The scholarship can be for certification training or extra college credit. The scholarship check will be made out to the training institution and the recipient. Attached is the application to be completed and submitted by April 15th. It can also be found on our web site, www.troywomensassociation.org
South Oakland Shelter Offers Assistance
The South Oakland Shelter, in an effort to prevent homelessness, has developed a housing program to assist individuals and families with short-term rental assistance, security deposits, utility payments, and moving costs. These are the Must-Have eligibility terms:
- At or below 50% of Area Median Income
- Homeless or at risk of losing home
- Moving into or residing in Oakland County, outside of Pontiac
- A lease agreement in place
- Willing to gather all required documentation.
