I’m an executive recruiter doing a search in the alternative energy industry.  It was brought to my attention that you are well connected in alternative energy, and more specifically with “Project Finance,” and you may have a working relationship with the key individual I’m looking for.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Finance and Accounting background.  Let me describe the position and responsibilities below.
Position Details:
Company is seeking a Manager – Financial Analysis with minimum 5 years of experience, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President Business Development. The incumbent will have expertise in preparing and reviewing project level financial proformas, with construction, term and equity financing, , tax and GAAP income statements, and be familiar with tax incentives available for renewable energy transactions. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, focused, organized and have the ability to work on multiple projects. Leadership qualities, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The Manager-Financial Analysis position will reside in Kansas.
Responsibilities:
• Direct all financial analysis, modeling and forecasting to value companies potential investment in greenfield and acquisition opportunities
• Coordinate with companies’ technical engineering, procurement, energy forecasting and development groups to incorporate and analyze inputs for their economic impact
• Interface with third party tax and accounting consultants, tax-equity investors, lenders and legal specialists.
• Lead and define research relative to energy markets in companies 3,000 MW portfolio, including analysis of merchant energy price forecasts performed by third party consultants
• Quickly learn to analyze the value of historical transmission rights and congestion within companies markets
• Perform ad hoc analytical initiatives for companies’ executives, as needed
• Support and drive initiatives to streamline and improve efficiencies and create value
Job Requirements:
• BS/BA Finance, Accounting or Engineering.
• MBA with emphasis in Finance or Accounting
• 5+ years’ experience in a comparable role, with specific experience in the energy or independent power industry, renewable energy background considered a plus
• Ability to excel in a fast paced, deadline driven environment;
• Expertise in preparing Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
• Effective communicator, listener, with ability to convey concepts in a clear and concise manner, while treating colleagues with respect.
