Habitat for Humanity – Oakland County is seeking a Director of Partnerships.
Position Purpose: The Director of Partnerships is responsible for leading and implementing the partnership and fundraising plan for the Affiliate. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Partnerships will manage and lead staff in a team environment, filling a critical role in the implementation of the strategic plan, including:
  • Manage existing and cultivate new corporate, faith and other organizational (e.g. associations, civic groups) relationships and  giving programs
  • Ensure that partner engagement expectations are met through the annual program design
  • Lead and manage all Special Event planning and implementation for Affiliate
  • Implement and manage Individual Giving programs
  • Serve as a primary spokesperson for the Affiliate among sponsors, volunteer groups and community organizations
  • Lead and manage partnerships staff in attainment of mission goals. Participate in leading the entire staff in the promotion of our mission and a culture of philanthropy
  • Work with the board of directors toward effective relationship building and fundraising
Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities, Measures of Accountability (included but not limited to):
  • Develop and implemental a Marketing Plan which outlines specific objectives at various levels of sponsorship and among various types/sizes of corporate and public donors
  • Measure:  Written plan in place by X date; quarterly re-assessment review
  • Solicit new corporate, faith and other organizational partnerships in line with annual goals.
  • Measure:  Achieve 100% growth objectives within stated time period.
  • Achieve renewal and growth objectives among existing corporate and faith sponsors
  • Measure:   Achieve 100% renewal/growth objectives within time period.
  • Prepare and execute presentations and public speaking engagements as needed
Oversight of:
  • Development and implement Recognition and Renewal program for existing sponsors.  Measure:  Written plan in place by X date; quarterly re-assessment review
  • Establish and implement an annual “Signature” fund-raising event for the affiliate
Measure:   Achieve funding and participation for event within time period
  • Develop and implement annual plan for Individual Giving and Major Gifts
Measure:  Increase individual giving 10% per annum
  • Serve as primary liaison for all external fundraising events, including creating/managing production of all collateral materials (e.g. publicity, give-a-ways, signage) for such events
Measure:  Meet 100% of all event requirements; E.D. evaluation
Minimum Qualifications and/or Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree and or 7 years work experience in a related field.  Prefer Southeast Michigan experience in all aspects non-profit fundraising with a focus on major gifts
  • Working knowledge of corporate giving programs and special event planning
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to lead planning processes, with aptitude for changing circumstances
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to connect with individual donors
  • Ability to make professional presentations and to effectively lead working groups
  • Knowledge and ability to apply technology to responsibilities to enhance personal productivity and social expectations
  • Must be goal oriented with a passion for the mission
