Job Title: Production Supervisor
Type: Long term contract
Pay rate: $20-$24/hr
Shift: Afternoons 3:00-Midnight (stars out training on days)
Location: Romulus
Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Manager, this position is responsible for executing the production plan on the shop floor and within defined boundaries.  This position focuses on maintaining a smooth flow of material and the execution of work orders to on-time completion.  The Production Supervisor leads, directs and manages all other production resources, including the use of people, machines, tools, fixtures and software where necessary.  This position is the “front-line” of management and is responsible for executing disciplinary actions when company policies or union agreements are not followed.
·         Bachelors degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
·         Three years experience in similar position including work leadership or supervision in a manufacturing setting.
·         Thorough understanding of DBS systems (Kaizen, KANBAN, Standard Work, 5S, etc.)
·         Skilled at conflict resolution techniques.  Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
·         Must have an understanding of local labor laws and ethical practices.
·         Proven leadership and team building capabilities.
·         Ability to learn and utilize the computer for standard business applications including word processing, spreadsheet and database.
·         Must be knowledgeable in the proper handling of chemicals and waste, both hazardous and nonhazardous, as defined by FDA, OSHA, EPA and DOT.
