Title: Program Manager (13-00599)
Location: Novi, MI
Base Compensation: $70 – 80K
Type of hire: Direct – 2 Positions to fill – 1 is for a backfill and 1 is for re-organization
Position Summary:
Tier 1 Auto Supplier seeks an Account/Program Manager within the Sales Team who is responsible for managing all aspects of programs from sourcing through production.
Position Responsibilities:
• Monitor program timing and its progress on a daily basis
• Follow up with internal departments/manufacturing locations to ensure milestones are achieved on time (Build events, tool kick-off, PPAP / PSA / PSO, SOP, documentation milestones, etc.)
• Oversees/drives coordination of Engineering changes (ECRs) and analyzes the impact of ECRs
• Coordinates activities with external customer requirements
• Prepares / supports documentation in response to customer requests (drawing, specifications, samples, VA / VET proposals, etc.)
• Coordinates and leads internal APQP meetings
• Provide engineering services and technical support to the customer (testing, analyzing and reporting)
• Conducts plant visits to investigate and observe customer claims, trial production, etc.
• Lead GM PDT meetings.
• Customer responsibility is GM and Chrysler. Additional customer accounts will be assigned and may change in the future
Position Requirements:
Mandatory Skills / Requirements:
• BS technical degree
• At least 2-5 years of Account/Program Management experience, managing Business to Business relationships within the automotive industry
• Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Must have excellent written, verbal and social skills
• Must be detail-oriented, responsive and patient
• Must work well in a team environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
• Proven ability to build relationships with customers
Desired Skills:
• Japanese language knowledge a plus
• GM and/or Chrysler experience a plus

Position Responsibilities:
• Price negotiations, forecasting, contract management, product development support, and customer relationship management.
• Work as a part of a cross-functional team to identify, pursue, and secure new business development opportunities
• Support customer change requests, product development, quality and delivery issues
• Follow up on daily commercial issues
• Coordinate and prepare technical presentations with engineering
• Negotiate project pricing and engineering changes
• Secure sourcing agreements
• Settle contractual agreements
• Obtain piece price and tooling purchase orders
• Support collection of credit concerns and tooling payments
**10% of effort is new business development – 90% is account maintenance**
Position Requirements:
• Must have a BS in Engineering
• Must have at least 2-5 years of Account Management experience, managing Business to Business relationships within the automotive industry
