Reflection
By Mike Houghton, Diaconate Candidate
Job seekers need to know that they are loved by God, that they are supported, and that with the help and prayers of others they will get through their time of trouble. Everyone has a time or two in their life when things seem hopeless, whether it’s due to the loss of a job, a medical illness, the loss of a loved one, or some other event that wants drain them of their spirit. But they need to stand tall and realize that in these toughest of times God is right there with them, walking by their side and even carrying them, if need be. God knows their needs and their desires, and he listens to their prayers. They need to take confidence in knowing that there is a light, although it is sometimes difficult to see, and that better days are ahead. This is the hope that comes from faith, and that faith in turn leads to more hope. With faith we have reason to believe, reason to hope, and reason to find joy in the stuggles that lead us to new undstandings of God’s will and plan.
