Job Description

U-Score is seeking a Senior Programmer or Lead Programmer to assist with its refinement of a cutting-edge video highlight network for the web and mobile phones. Candidates should have at least 5 years experience with strong expertise in the design, development and maintenance of: databases; API’s; and, websites. Databases (SQL) and websites are in a PHP environment; however, online user administrative tools are .NET. 

Candidates will need a strong HTML coding skills and familiarity with JAVA, FLASH, FLEX or similar graphic languages.

Skills

You will be responsible to work with and assist in the coordination of the work of a number of contract programmers with specializations in: digital video broadcast to web and mobile networks; SMS text messaging technologies; mobile App development; FLASH/FLEX GUI development; Back Office administration systems and management interfaces; human motion identification and others. 
The core of the U-Score Network is the database, website and API interfaces with a variety of applications. You will be continually improving, creating and maintaining the hub of our Network. Thus you must be comfortable working with numerous programmers developing and integrating Network features that will constitute the “spokes” from your “hub”. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
- Work in BOTH a team and Individual environment to drive technology development in a timely and effective manner. 

- Create effective Statement of Work/Specifications for all new projects… both those being performed by the Lead Programmer and those being assigned U-Score staff or 3rd party contractors. 

- Develop relationships with contract programmers and participate in the decision if/when certain skills should be brought “in-house” by hiring a full-time U-Score employee to perform these programming functions. 

- Define technology goals and assist in defining effective programming projects. 

- Reports on the status of all Programming Projects in a manner that effectively communicates the timing and status of all milestones, tasks and required resources. 

- Manage multiple, large programs simultaneously. 

- Carefully listen, understand and address the needs of customers and other U-Score team members. 

- Self-starter with a proven track record of effectively managing oneself and others. 
  
REQUIREMENTS: 
- Creative and loves challenges… thinks outside the box. 

- BA/BS degree (or higher) preferred. 

- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a lead programmer with responsibilities in database, API and web design/creation/maintenance. 

- Strong knowledge of, and existing relationships in, the web programming community. 

- Knowledgeable in database, API and web design with proven track record in developing and implementing online technologies. 

- Ability to manage the entire Programming Project process from conception through go-live. 

- Ability to meet and exceed expectations. 

- Ability to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

Company Description

U-Score has developed a proprietary technology for broadcasting video highlights of sports and other personal performances to the Web and mobile networks within seconds of the live action. Initial system tests were successfully completed with the NBA and market testing was completed in August 2010. U-Score will launch Fall 2010. The Company was acquired by Quantum Ventures of Michigan, LLC in early 2010.
