Make More Effective Use of Internet Tools
A free workshop to help job seekers make more effective use of the Internet as a tool during their job searches – “More Effective Online Job Searches” – will be offered by:

The workshop will be held at St. Jane’s Hall #1
A team of presenters will conduct the career development workshop, which provides an array of resources for job seekers. The session will be geared toward more effective use of the computer and software during job searches, and will cover:
- Gleaning information from social media sites
- Representative job search sites
- Sites to research company information
- Internet Explorer 8 search tips
- Tips on using the Yahoo! Groups message database
- E-mail alerts and RSS feeds of job openings
Karen Stonehouse – an executive with over 17 years of networking experience gained as an entrepreneur, president of the American Society of Body Engineers and a professional recruiter / account manager – will lead the free workshop. Also presenting are:
- Dale Erickson, president of The Albo Group, Inc., an executive recruiting and contract organization specializing in information technology and sales solutions for hospitals. Erickson, a Certified Personnel Consultant and a member of the National Association of Personnel Services, is also an adjunct faculty member at Macomb Community College; and
- Edouard Piché, an experienced automotive engineering manager who built his first home computer in 1982 and has since then used numerous software programs. Piché will share some of his experience and tips to help the job seekers become more efficient in their computer use during job searches and on their jobs.
